This is Humans of Jefferson! Meet Courtnee, a student trustee, student ambassador, and a Liberal Arts major at JCC! Courtnee is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina and moved to Fort Drum with her family. She chose JCC because she was unsure of what to do for school and chose to stay local because of the opportunities the college offers and the faculty. She loves that JCC lets her do what she wants with her education and she can join numerous committees and sports teams (soccer and softball). In her free time, Courtnee enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, reading, and the TV show Parks and Rec. What's interesting about her is she is a triplet, she DOESN'T enjoy the snow, and always dresses for comfort. Courtnee hopes to transfer to study political science with a focus on sustainable energy. Her advice to other students is "Push yourself to achieve your dreams." #SUNYJefferson #humansofjefferson

This is Humans of Jefferson. Meet Jason from Dexter, NY. Jason graduated from JCC with his degree in Human Services in December 2017 and plans to complete his degree in Chemical Dependency in May. Before coming to JCC, Jason served in the U.S. Navy and during his military time, he toured three continents. His career goal is to become a licensed clinical social worker. He is proud of JCC and the personal atmosphere the campus offers. What intrigues him most about the college is the eagerness of professors who want to help him despite not being one of their students. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He says “utilize the resources provided at JCC and don’t be afraid to ask questions.” #SUNYJefferson #humansofjefferson
