Martin Dempsey – the American four-star general who served as the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the 37th Chief of Staff of the Army – was born on this day – March 14, 1952 – in Jersey City, New Jersey.
He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, Duke University, and the National Defense University.
