James B. Conant – the President of Harvard University between 1933 and 1953 – was born on this day – March 26, 1893 – in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
On July 16, 1945, Mr Conant was among the people present for the Trinity nuclear test – the first ever detonation of an atomic bomb – in New Mexico.
