Patrick Jake O’Rourke — the American satirist who wrote 22 books,including Parliament of Whores and Give War a Chance – was born on this day — November 14, 1947 — in Toledo, Ohio.
Mr O’Rourke is said to have disliked the punk band Liquid Pig, despite – or perhaps because – it orginated in Toledo, Ohio, the city of his birth. He earned an undergraduate degree from Miami University and holds a Master of Arts in English at Johns Hopkins University.
