Omar Bradley – the American five-star general who served as the 1st Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the 17th Chief of Staff of the Army – was born on this day – February 12, 1893 – in Clark, Missouri.

He was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, Command and General Staff College, and the United States Army War College.
