Richard Myers – the American four-star general who served as the 15th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and previously as the Commander-in-Chief of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) – was born on this day – March 1, 1942 – in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was a graduate of Kansas State University, Auburn University, and the Air War College.
