Lori Chavez-DeRemer — the American businesswoman and politician who has served as the United States Secretary of Labor since January 2025 — was born on this day — June 8, 1968 — in Hanford, California.
She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science.
Prior to her appointment to the Cabinet, Chavez-DeRemer represented Oregon’s 5th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
